The Pledge of the Black Parade

I am not afraid to keep on living. I am not afraid to walk this world alone. I have lost my fear of falling. I have walked Cemetery Drive and among the famous living dead. I shall forever answer to the ‘Hallelujah lock and load’ call. I am just a sad song with nothing to say. I am part of the broken, the beaten, and the damned; I am the phantom that leads them in the summer. I will darken my cloths and strike a violent pose. I’ll tell you I’m an angle and you’ll take it to the grave. I’m writing this letter and wishing you well; Mama we all go to Hell. They tell us to come with our arms raised high; but that’s because we scare the living shit outta them. They can’t fix me proper with any bit of luck they have. They won’t turn and tell me that they don’t love me like they did yesterday. You can say a prayer if you need to. If you look in the mirror and don’t like what you see, you can find out first time what it’s like to be me. Then the sun comes up it will tear the skin right off my bones. We watch our lives on the screen but I hate the ending myself. We love the beat and the lust it commands; so drop the dagger and lather the blood your hands. Can we settle up the score? If you were here, I’d never have a fear. But I miss you more that I did yesterday. So send my resignation to the bride and the groom. Please bury me in all my favorite colors, my sisters and my brothers. Say good-bye to the last parade. I’m never comin’ home, never comin’ home. So long and goodNight.
