In The End

You learn that life isn't fair and it isn't right and bad things happen to good people and good things happen to the wrong people. But at the end of the day, when the last song is sung, when all the chips are in and counted, when all that hardship is over, there is hope. There is always hope. People fight and swear and die and I hate you, I love you, and your mother never loved you and your father's vile but in the end you understand that everyone is just clawing their way though like you and they're trying their best and sometimes their best just isn't the best. And you realize that you have to get away and you have to escape and it doesn't matter who you're leaving behind because you have to do what's best for you and what's best for you sometimes ends up being what best for them too. They cry and they scream and you turn yourself inside out trying to find a reason to stay and you find a thousand and two but none are as good as your reason to leave. And you just tell yourself;
"no. I can go one. They can go on."
And you leave and the world's better for it. and half way there you stop and ask;
"What am I doing?"
And sometimes you keep going
And sometimes you turn back
And it's all okay
And then, in the end, when the battle is won, you have hope. And hope's always there.
